Tom Cruise Meets Chinese Girl Due to Her New Book
When Tom Cruise heard the story of a Chinese girl who wrote “My love for you, Tom Cruise -- A Desperate Chinese girl’s Confession,” a book about he inspired her to come to America from a small village of China, he was moved.
So he decided to meet this girl in person, the young writer and actress named Niki Yan who has the same strength and determination just like him. It’s to do with Top Gun, it’s to do with love and faith; it’s to do with inspiration. It’s to do with her seven-year’s dream and hope. It’s to do with being ultimately positive. Niki is such a person; Tom is too. She followed the path that Tom Cruise has created for his own.
So here it is: October 13, 2005, Cruise invited this courageous girl from China to the movie set of Mission Impossible III. “Once again, it proved that miracle does exist,” Niki says, “You follow your dream, and put all your heart into it, someday it will come true, my meeting with Cruise is a great example. People say you can’t do this and do that because…don’t listen to them! A lot people say 'Niki, Tom Cruise would never want to meet you!' See what happened. You got to listen to your own guidance. I would not allow anyone or anything to define my own ability. I can do anything and everything I choose to. Anything is possible. The unlimited possibilities are out there, you just have to believe it.”
It’s Tom Cruise’s positive energy that inspired Niki. And her face-to-face meeting with Cruise once again proved that Cruise is in his ultimately positive dimension. “He is inspiration, always,” Niki says. “I told Tom that I release negative people in my life; he said 'you must have released a lot people!'
“He was funny and down-to –earth, dynamic and considerate. I felt like I was meeting an old friend, I liked him immediately. He was such a human, he asked about my family in China, and my growing up and my grandpa. He really cares about people; he made me feel like home. His generosity and faith, love and compassion showed immediately after we started the conversation.” Niki seemed enjoyed her time with Cruise, the star she calls her “Hero” and “Role Model.”
Call her lucky, call her ambitious, the truth is Niki is achieving her goals. “I don’t believe in luck, I believe you create your own luck. My meeting with Cruise is certainly not a coincidence. You do what you can to make your dream come true, so one day when it appears before your eye, you are not surprised. It’s almost my destiny to meet Tom in person. I knew I create my own reality, so when the so-called luck fills my own desire, I know where it’s coming from. Life is under my control. And I know where exactly the direction goes, cause I intended to.”
During the meeting, Tom asked Niki if it’s easy to come to America from China. Niki answers: “Well, I told them that I want to see Tom Cruise, so they let me in!” Tom laughed out loud: “See, now you are on the set of Mission Impossible 3!”
Niki told Tom that her ultimate dream is working in the film industry as a writer and actress. “How is it going?” Tom asked. “I am doing it!” Tom seemed impressed by her confidence and persistence.
The poor little girl from China finally meets the super star, who she calls “the living legend with a compassionate heart." So, what’s next? “This is just a start.” Niki told Tom. “It’s always a start.” Tom says to her. The opportunities and possibilities are welcoming Niki in this brand-new country. The journey of adventure is just started.

Niki sent the picture of her and Tom to her Grandma in China who still lives in the small village that Niki grew up.
