Message of the Pendant -- First Novel of the Darmon Historical Mystery Series is Released

William Darmon and his wife Elizabeth were powerful figures in the countryside of County Kent-pillars of the community who set society's pace from their expansive grounds known as Mayfair Hall. Now, the murder of a family member has occurred on their premises. At the scene of the crime, a mysterious pendant is found containing a long lost request of Napoleon Bonaparte for an American mission to burn down Parliament buildings. The couple sets out to investigate.

The action filled pursuit set in 1818 finds the couple on the trail of a French conspiracy to free the Napoleon from exile. Their path leads to France, America, Scotland and the South Atlantic. A shipwreck off the coast of Scotland, a terror filed night at an English castle, a harrowing siege on the Island of St. Helena and destruction of their Manor loom in this historical thriller.

Author Thomas Thorpe is the Project Manager of NASA’s highly successful Mars Global Surveyor Mission – a spacecraft that has orbited Mars for over eight years, having returned more than two hundred thousand images of the planet and relayed pictures from the Mars Exploration Spirit and Opportunity Rovers.
