Tenhunt.com Debuts First Online Scavenger Hunt Today
TenHunt.com today announced that the internet's first-ever live online scavenger hunt will begin at 7:19 PM Pacific Time on Friday. The online hunt will feature a real-time, head-to-head scavenger hunt competition between online players who will be battling to win the title of fastest scavenger – and the first's week's prize, a 30GB Video iPOD. Registration is free for the contest at www.TenHunt.com
We feel that players who spend more time on a sponsor's site will be more apt to conduct business with that advertiser at a later date, obviously if the products and services on the site match their interests
The object of the game is simple. Each official entrant will receive ten questions, or riddles, that correspond to ten websites. The player that moves through all ten websites successfully answering ten questions correctly wins the hunt and the first week's prize. The game promises to be fun for consumers, and TenHunt's founders pointed to the potential benefits it can deliver to sponsoring websites.
"We see the value of a TenHunt player as incredibly powerful to an advertiser," said Mike Taggart, the game's co-founder. "Not only will players be visiting an advertiser's site, they will be scouring its contents to discover the answer contained on the site."
"What sponsoring site wouldn't want to have thousands of visitors moving around their site with great attention," added co-founder Walter Ellis.
"We feel that players who spend more time on a sponsor's site will be more apt to conduct business with that advertiser at a later date, obviously if the products and services on the site match their interests," added Taggart.
"Everyone on the internet is getting annoyed by online advertising. TenHunt can give consumers a fun and engaging way to be exposed to offers, while advertisers benefit from the exposure they receive. It's a win-win," added Ellis.
So what does the future hold? The co-Founders said that, as more and more players sign up every week, the prizes will increase in value, with the lofty goal of one million dollars in prizes in 2007 to TenHunt players. While both Taggart and Ellis allowed that this was a lofty goal, they believe it is attainable. The first week's game is set for Friday evening at 7:19 p.m. Pacific Time.
