Undiscovered.com Announces Open-Call Auditions for a $100,000 Hostmodel Contract
America's obsession with fame and fortune shows no signs of subsiding anytime soon. Popular reality shows like "American Idol" promise a record contract and celebrity status to a winner each season, and tens of thousands of aspiring singers turn out for auditions in cities across the nation hoping to be the next "big thing". The undiscovered.com international hostmodel search follows suit, holding open-call auditions in select cities across the U.S. and abroad in search of fresh female faces to compete for a shot at fame and a $100,000 hostmodel contract that will be awarded later this year. The first open-call will take place in Hollywood, California this Thursday.
"We're looking for natural beauties with plenty of personality…no experience necessary," says Amber A. Knight, Director of Public Relations and the leader of the International Hostmodel Search Team. "The winner will become the official spokesperson of undiscovered.com. She will have the opportunity to travel all over the world, representing our organization to the public at every level of the media: print, radio, television, and events. It's a dream job for any aspiring hostmodel."
And what exactly is a "hostmodel"? undiscovered.com coined the term last year, and they are now the first to specialize in helping hostmodels who are just starting out in their careers. "We worked with so many beautiful, talented women who were struggling to find their 'big break' because they weren't tall enough for runway and high-fashion," explains Ms. Knight. "We noticed that the common denominator for success stories without the height, like Vanessa Minnillo and Brooke Burke, is not only that they're exceptionally beautiful, but they have the unique ability to crossover into TV hosting and screen acting. Their personalities charm and captivate their audience just as much as their beauty - and those traits are rare and highly sought after in the entertainment industry."
The top hostmodels selected from the auditions will have the opportunity to compete for the $100,000 grand prize in Vegas later this year. Considering the success of the CW network's hit reality show "America's Next Top Model," which also offers a $100,000 contract from Cover Girl to its winner; Ms. Knight expects a big response from the public and a broad range of new talent to choose from. "We are looking for all ethnicities and nationalities worldwide. Remember - she doesn't have to be 5'9", but she does have to have a great persona - on and off camera."
undiscovered.com will be holding open-call auditions in Hollywood, San Diego, and Las Vegas over the next two months to find the top candidates on the west coast. Additional tour dates will be announced later this spring. The first open-call will be held in Hollywood on Thursday, February 15th at Basque Hollywood from 1-5PM. Aspiring hostmodels unable to attend the live auditions have the opportunity to apply and submit photos online at www.undiscovered.com.
