Southern New Hampshire University Adds Top Publishing Industry Professionals to MFA Advisory Board

Four respected industry professionals have joined the Advisory Board of the MFA in Fiction and Nonfiction at SNHU. Esmond Harmsworth, founding partner of Zachary Schuster Harmsworth Literary Agency of New York City and Boston; Lorin Rees of the Helen Rees Literary Agency of Boston; Janet Silver, Vice President and Publisher of Adult Trade Books of Houghton Mifflin; and Lissa Warren, Vice President, Senior Director of Publicity and Acquiring Editor of Da Capo Books/ Perseus Group.

"I couldn't be more pleased," says Robert Begiebing, Director of the low-residency MFA, "to have these extraordinary publishing professionals with the university to offer their wisdom and insight to our students and faculty on a regular basis as we prepare our degree recipients to enter the competitive world of book publishing. These outstanding professionals add luster to our current board, whose members include best-selling novelist and former Dutton CEO Joseph Kanon, President of Scovil Chichak Galen Literary Agency Jack Scovil, Director of Marketing and Sales of University Press of New England Sarah Welsch, and Executive Director of the New Hampshire Writers' Project Barbara Yoder."

I couldn't be more pleased
The entire board will work with the faculty and students of the university's Master of Fine Arts program in August during the 2007 summer residency. The MFA program in Fiction and Nonfiction prepares students to write in their chosen genre at a professional level.
