As you can see, many of these artists are both well known and exceedingly talented artists. Furthermore these artists come from all over the world. This will probably make this London’s largest ever festival of International Outsider Art to date. The festival web-site was set up in November 2003. Since then, the festival has received a lot of publicity.
The Festival will be held at the Candid Arts Trust in Central London. The Trust is being hired independently by the festival organiser. Candid has had many years of experience in organising exhibitions and has run over 20 major Art and Design Fairs at both the Chelsea Town Hall and the Business Design Centre. The Trust organises mixed shows for Art & Design Graduates in order to provide graduates with more exposure and the opportunity to sell their work, gain commissions and employment. The organiser hopes that holding the Raw Arts Festival at the Candid Arts Trust will provide exhibiting participants with a similar level of exposure and opportunity. The Candid Arts Trust has both a ground floor and a first floor gallery, each of which is very large (22 metres * 12 metres at the widest points). So this exhibition is set to become London's largest ever exhibition of Raw Art.
The Trust has a café next door which helps to create an informal and relaxed atmosphere. It is located just behind Angel Tube station and is thus easy to get to. It also benefits from the vibrant Angel market nearby. The festival is being organised by Piers Midwinter. Piers’ is an artist, creator and director of the Raw Arts Festival (www.rawartsfestival.co.uk) and Raw Art Link (www.rawartlink.com).
