Hotelier teams with artist to create annual Art for Adoption Event to support non-profit adoption or
The Lemon Tree Inn of Naples, Florida and metal artist Teresa Thompson have teamed together to create the annual Art for Adoption event. The garden party and art show support China Adoption with Love, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable adoption agency. 100% of the donations will go directly to orphanages in China to support programs for older children, special needs children and for foster families.
“There are more than 900 orphanages in China seeking homes for their children. In Naples, 80 families, including my family, have adopted children from China. The need is still so great for those children who are not adopted,” noted Sid Kalmans, owner of the Lemon Tree Inn, “Art for Adoption is a special fundraiser that means a lot to us. In addition to sending 100% of the donations directly to the orphanages, we will be celebrating the opening of the Naples’ office of China Adoption with Love.”
The Art for Adoption event will be held in the garden of The Lemon Tree Inn on March 25 from 5pm-7pm. Attending guests will have the opportunity to view and purchase creations of metal artist Teresa Thompson (www.HotMETALmama.com). “I am always learning from children. They are so creative, insightful and honest,” commented Thompson, “It’s a privilege to support an organization responsible for bringing so much happiness to children.” A portion of the proceeds from sales of Thompson’s work benefit China Adoption with Love. Thompson has also donated a piece that will be in the silent auction.
Also in the silent auction is a hotel stay on the Caribbean island of St. Croix, a surfboard designed by professional surfer Frieda Zamba and more. For more information on the Art for Adoption event visit www.LemonTreeInn.com or call Steve Sbertoli, General Manager at the Lemon Tree Inn at 239-262-1414. The Lemon Tree Inn is located at 250 Ninth Street South in Naples, Fl.
China Adoption with Love was founded in 1995 to find homes for abandoned children in China. Children are abandoned as a result of the one-child per family policy instituted in 1979 in an effort to control China’s population. Children born out of wedlock or suffering from disabilities also face abandonment. Since 1983 Americans have adopted more than 38,000 Chinese orphans. China Adoption with Love is registered with the China Center of Adoption Affairs (CCAA), the central authority overseeing all China adoptions.
