Atelier Art New York recently opened its doors to a standing room only crowd at 306 Eighth Avenue 2d Floor behind the goldleaf door to a standing room only crowd of well wishers. The event given by the founder and owner Leonides Rosa Molinar was to announce to the art community at large especially Chelsea the non disputed Art Capital Of The World that minority artists and disenfranchised artists now had a place to exhibit their works to the public at large. According to him the art world for sometime has forgotten that art and creativity is a human activity not an activity relegated to the space its architecture or its gallery "personality" The voice of Art has always been that of individuals that have been at (or attuned to) the fringe of society throughout history. Yes Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol did advocate that an artist needed to be recognized and "paid" before his death, but it never was intended for the world of art to be turned into what we have at present. The gathering was full with artists and other well wishers looking at the 35 paintings of the resident artist Mark Vinsun, abstract expressionist painter, a "rising star of merit" stated the noted painter Fred Mitchel, one of the last living members of the New York School who at 86 attended the event to wish both men success. Mr. Molinar also announced the following artists as being represented by the gallery they are Moises Fragela, Michael Calloway, Jose Luis Cortes, Blas Castro; special arrangements with the founder of the Organization Of Puerto Rican Artists (OPR) Luis Carle and Fred Mitchell the noted New York School painter. The events entertainment was given by a russian violin/cello duo of classical pieces and latter by a dj that let the guest dance into the night. A great event I and the guest wish them well.
