A public exhibition of original portraits produced by national artists and members of the Portrait Society of Atlanta will be on display from April 1 through April 28, 2004 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta. There will be a reception held at the same location on April 10 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. when the public is invited to meet the artists.
A public exhibition of original portraiture produced by national artists and members of the Portrait Society of Atlanta will be on display from April 1 through April 28, 2004 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta, 1911 Cliff Valley Way, in Atlanta. There will be a reception held at the same location on April 10 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. when the public is invited to meet the artists and learn who has been awarded the top prizes for their excellent work in this collection. Admission is free.
The portraits represent the works of 31 artists in different media including oil, pastel and charcoal. The Portrait Society of Atlanta, a non-profit organization now celebrating its 25th year, provides two public exhibitions annually at various locations around the city. Each exhibited work has been evaluated by Juror Margaret Carter Baumgaertner, an internationally recognized portrait artist, and herself the recipient of many awards, including Best of Show in the Portrait Society of America’s 2000 Portrait Competition and inclusion in The Artists Magazine 1997 Competition among many others.
