Earth Day Collaborative Sculptural Event at Central Texas Artisan Community

An EARTH DAY event is taking place on April 22, 2004 at Hill Country Studios Artisan Community just off RR 12, 5.5 miles north of Dripping Springs. Participants are invited, anytime during the day, to contribute on a collaborative environmental sculpture of rock and other natural materials any time between 7 AM and 7 PM.

The site overlooks rolling hills and a quiet valley that is being set aside as a preserve with nature trails and sculpture. This is the inaugural event for the artisan work/live community at Hill Country Studios.

Co-director and founder of Hill Country Studios, Catherine Werth says, “We are seeking creative artisans to participate in this arts community. Catherine and resident sculptor Joe Wigley, Member of Texas Society of Sculptors, Texas Sculpture Association and the National Sculpture Society, own a gallery featuring their art and eventually the works of other Hill Country artists.

Hill Country Studios is a member of the Greater Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce. A map and more details about the Earth Day event and other arts events are listed on the website www.hillcountrystudios.com.

Call 512-264-0861 for more info. Look for signs to the environmental sculpture earth day event.
