San Diego Zoo & Virtuserve Entertainment announce partnership to produce endangered species calendar
Virtuserve, a San Diego, California based literary and film development company, and the world famous San Diego Zoo, have announced a partnership to produce high quality calendars featuring photo's and educational information about various critical endangered species in the world today.
The 2005 debut calendar features one of The Great Apes, The Orangutan, Order Primate, or Pongo Pygmaeus. Recently a San Diego Zoo Orangutan, Indah, gave birth to a baby male Orangutan, and in conjunction with 180,000 AOL members, the name Cinta was chosen, which means “Love and affection”in BAHASA, the official language OF Sumatra. Cinta AND Indah Are of course featured in the 2005 Calendar.
It is a known fact that primates mate only in times when they are content and do not feel threatened. That is a tribute to the San Diego Zoo and the primate keepers.
The calendars will feature the members of the San Diego Zoo Orangutan family. Along with the fantastic images, the calendars will include a brief description of the subject, Genus, Species, location in the wild, status- (Critically Endangered), along with an appeal to support their preservation.
The calendars will be available in major retail stores, as well as on the San Diego Zoo's web-site, www.shopzoo.com.
The World Famous San Diego Zoo is operated by the Not-for-Profit Zoological Society OF San Diego. The Zoological Society, dedicated to conservation of Endangered Species and their habitats, engages in conservation and research work around the Globe. The Zoological Society also manages The Center For Reproduction Of Endangered Species (CRES), and is working to establish Field Stations in five key ecological areas worldwide.
