Local Virginian Wins coveted "TELLY AWARD."

Red Hawk, singer/song writer and master Native American Storyteller, won the 2004 “TELLY” award for music video of the year off the new CD, “The Songs Remember.” The 25th Annual TELLY awards honored outstanding local, regional and cable television commercials and programs & the finest video and film productions in the world.

Red Hawk and Nino Reyos, both Native Americans, won a Telly award after competing with over ten thousand entries from a group of talented musicians. The music video, a Native American tribute to September 11th, featured never before scenes from that terrible day and several clips of President George Bush. They received a personal White House letter and an autographed photograph from President Bush and his wife thanking them for their wonderful recording.

Hawk and Nino’s new CD, “The Songs Remember,” is entered in the nomination process for this years 2004 NAMMY awards (Native American Music Awards) in a record 13 categories. Later this month they will also be slated for three GRAMMY nominations from the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences. The CD has received world recognition and lots of radio time in London, Australia, Germany, New Zealand and the US.

Red Hawk is a long time resident of Williamsburg and can be seen once again this year at First Night, a New Years Eve celebration held in Williamsburg. Nino Reyos currently lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, and both artists performed at the 2002 Winter Olympic held in Salt Lake City. Their new CD is available in all major retail outlets in the US and overseas.
