Twilight Times Books Announces the Release of "Death On Delivery" by Anne K. Edwards

November 5, 2004 -- Hannah Clare, Private Investigator, makes her debut in Death On Delivery by Anne K. Edwards, publisher Twilight Times Books.

Hannah was created to offer the reader something different in a private investigator. She is a loving mother and grandmother who enjoys catching killers. She says it gives her a rush.

Hannah resides in the small fictional community of Penns Crossing located outside of Philadelphia. Her hobby of reading obits brings to her attention a series of deaths due to unknown causes and when the opportunity to investigate arises, she takes it and nearly winds up a murder victim herself.

The creation of Hannah Clare is strongly influenced by Agatha Christie, an author much admired by Anne K. Edwards. Anne likes to know why people commit crimes and writes with that perspective in mind.

The character of Hannah Clare is based on a no-nonsense approach to life, although she admits to being somewhat judgmental about people's characters which gives her a human quality along with her lifetime habit of smoking too much. She uses her wits to get out of tight spots as she works alone.

Contrary to many PI novels that portray the police as rige, sneering types or nearly as bad as the criminals themselves, Hannah finds them to be good people. She is particuarly fond of one young policeman and teases him mercilessly about his lovelife.

Reviewers from Reader to Reader, Murder and Mayhem Bookclub, New Mystery Reader, Small Press Review, Crime Scene Scotland and Gotta Write Network (to name a few) have given Death On Delivery great reviews. Sample chapters can be found at the publisher's website
