December 9, 2004 -- As America’s Women’s Resource Specialistä, Rose Lee will share with her viewers the process that follows a hurricane after the Federal Emergency Management Agency assesses the damage. Tony Bauer from the U.S SBA Disaster Assistance Team, says, “We piggyback off of FEMA investigators and help families and businesses get past the emotional and financial devastation from all of their losses.” –Award winning journalist, Rose Lee Archer is the producer and host of her public affairs television program.
The Rose Lee Archer Show airs each Saturday morning at 6:30 AM on the PAX Television stations in Florida and Georgia. For the past the six years Rose Lee has been offering her viewers pragmatic solutions to life’s challenges. Each episode of her show presents free resources from government agencies, nonprofit organizations and the private business sector. Rose Lee knows first hand how hurricanes tear up memories and shatter lives and property. After Hurricane Andrew in 1992 totally changed she and her son’s life. Rose Lee offered her talents as an independent producer to the Miami Dade Police Departments Video Services. She worked Alpha-Brava shifts form 7 AM to 7 PM documenting the devastated areas of Dade County. She continues her commitment to help hurricane victims by providing resources to help victims who were left devastated by the summer of 2004 hurricanes.
Rose Lee has partnered with the SBA to produce an episode of her show featuring Tony Bauer, a member of the SBA Disaster Assistance Team and Public Information Officer. Tony was sent down to Florida after hurricane Ivan from his home in Dallas, Texas to assist Florida homeowners and businesses find the necessary resources to get past this emotionally draining time in their lives.
Some of Rose Lee’s viewers throughout the state are still suffering from the residual effects of last summer’s hurricanes.The SBA realizes business profits in area’s affected by the storm will continue to assess their residual damages. That is why the SBA has extended filling deadlines to June 27, 2005. Rose Lee advocates hurricane victims with valid claims contact the SBA to learn more about the loans available up to $200,000 to help residents repair disaster damaged primary residences. She recognizes the problems faced by displaced homeowners and renters who may still eligible for loans up to $40,000 to replace personal property such as furniture and clothing. Rose Lee is amazed that only 24 % of SBA disaster assistance loans go to businesses and non profits organizations. Those loans are available to all sizes of businesses up to $1.5 million to repair damage to real estate, machinery, equipment and inventory. Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) are also available to small businesses unable to pay bills or meet operating expenses.
Rose Lee Archer has won the “2003 Woman of the Year in Television and the 2002 Women in Business Advocate of the Year.” She was recently nominated for the SBA’s 2005 Journalist of the Year.
