Sustained, Crossover Chart Success for Hammock
Franklin, TN April 19, 2005 -- Kenotic is breaking ground and breaking formats. Hammock Music Label announced today that the debut CD from flagship artist, Hammock, is currently in its seventh week in the CMJ (College Music Journal) Top 200 Alternative Rock Chart and, in a unique crossover, is charting for a second month in New Age Reporter’s Top 100 and is in the rotation of nationally syndicated programs “Echoes” and “Hearts of Space”.
“Our hope from the beginning was that listeners would approach the music the same way Andrew (Thompson) and I did when recording it: with no presuppositions of what it should be,” says Hammock’s Marc Byrd. “And seeing Kenotic chart alongside The Mars Volta and Will Ackerman in the same week tells me that our hope is coming true.”
